The company is growing and they’re now looking for a Backend PHP Developer to join the team.

About the role

This role will be key in building, scaling, and maintaining backend systems that power high-impact, customer-facing products. You’ll work closely with front-end developers, product teams, and other backend engineers, with real ownership over technical decisions and product architecture.

Your day-to-day

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP

• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to define API requirements

• Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and security

• Implement data storage solutions and manage databases

• Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed

• Ensure proper documentation of APIs for internal and external use

• Monitor and troubleshoot backend services to identify and resolve issues

• Stay up to date with backend best practices and emerging technologies

• Deliver high-quality code solutions and contribute to product architecture decisions

• Write clear, scalable, and well-tested code that creates real business value

• Share feedback and collaborate closely with your peers

We’re looking for someone who

• Has extensive experience with PHP (Laravel is a strong plus)

• Has a solid understanding of OOP principles and clean code design

• Has experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing

• Is familiar with REST APIs, SQL, and ORMs

• Has basic experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS), Webpack / NPM / Gulp

• Is confident using Git for version control

• Has experience with message queueing technologies (RabbitMQ, PubSub, Kafka)

• Is familiar with application containerization technologies like Docker

• Is a proactive self-starter who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo

Nice to have

• Experience working with large-scale or high-traffic systems

Compensation

Gross salary starting from €3,300/month, depending on experience, skills, and overall fit.
