Senior PHP Developer

The team is growing and they’re now looking for a Senior Backend PHP Developer to join the team.

About the role

This role will be key in designing, building, and scaling backend systems that power mission-critical, high-impact products. You’ll work closely with front-end developers, product teams, and other backend engineers, with real ownership over technical decisions, architecture, and business outcomes.

Your day-to-day

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP

  • Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to define API requirements

  • Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and security

  • Implement data storage solutions and manage databases

  • Integrate third-party APIs and services

  • Ensure proper documentation of APIs for internal and external use

  • Monitor and troubleshoot backend services to identify and resolve issues

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging backend technologies

  • Deliver high-quality code solutions and contribute to product architecture decisions

  • Write clear, scalable, and well-tested code that creates real business value

  • Share feedback and knowledge with your peers

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has extensive experience with PHP (Laravel is a strong plus)

  • Has confident knowledge of OOP principles and design patterns

  • Has experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing

  • Is comfortable working with REST APIs, SQL, and ORMs

  • Is confident using Git for version control

  • Has experience with message queueing technologies (RabbitMQ, PubSub, Kafka)

  • Is familiar with application containerization tools like Docker

  • Understands the principles of microservice architecture

  • Is a proactive self-starter who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo

  • Experience working with large-scale or high-traffic systems

  • Previous ownership of architectural or system-level decisions

Gross salary ranging from €5,500 to €6,700/month, depending on experience, skills, and overall fit.
