The team is growing and they’re now looking for a Senior Backend PHP Developer to join the team.
About the role
This role will be key in designing, building, and scaling backend systems that power mission-critical, high-impact products. You’ll work closely with front-end developers, product teams, and other backend engineers, with real ownership over technical decisions, architecture, and business outcomes.
Your day-to-day
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP
Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to define API requirements
Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and security
Implement data storage solutions and manage databases
Integrate third-party APIs and services
Ensure proper documentation of APIs for internal and external use
Monitor and troubleshoot backend services to identify and resolve issues
Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging backend technologies
Deliver high-quality code solutions and contribute to product architecture decisions
Write clear, scalable, and well-tested code that creates real business value
Share feedback and knowledge with your peers
We’re looking for someone who
Has extensive experience with PHP (Laravel is a strong plus)
Has confident knowledge of OOP principles and design patterns
Has experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing
Is comfortable working with REST APIs, SQL, and ORMs
Is confident using Git for version control
Has experience with message queueing technologies (RabbitMQ, PubSub, Kafka)
Is familiar with application containerization tools like Docker
Understands the principles of microservice architecture
Is a proactive self-starter who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo
Nice to have
Experience working with large-scale or high-traffic systems
Previous ownership of architectural or system-level decisions

Compensation
Gross salary ranging from €5,500 to €6,700/month, depending on experience, skills, and overall fit.
